Digital Next Ventures has launched ShipSherpa, a technology led logistics platform built to take on the UK same day and on demand delivery market.
A new technology and ecommerce arm
The phase one launch marks the start of a dedicated technology and ecommerce division alongside the established Digital Next agency. The business says it has invested £100,000 to date in ShipSherpa and related ecommerce projects.
The model takes expertise built inside the agency, across performance marketing, SEO, paid media, web development and automation, and applies it directly to owned technology platforms.
Tackling a fragmented market
Built for logistics managers, businesses, self employed owner driver couriers and fleet operators, ShipSherpa is designed to make same day delivery easier, faster and more intuitive.
Chief executive Justin Blackhurst is leading the venture, which aims to replace the phone calls, spreadsheets and disconnected courier networks that still run much of the same day market.
What this means for commercial teams
- New logistics technology platforms create demand for commercial talent who can sell software into operations teams.
- As delivery becomes more software driven, the sector competes for salespeople who understand both logistics and technology.
