Manchester or Leeds for a regional CRO search?+

It depends on the business HQ and the candidate's home base. Both cities have a strong senior commercial talent pool. Manchester has more SaaS and GTM depth; Leeds has more financial services and FinTech depth. Most Northern CROs we place are open to either city if the role is right.

Are Manchester sales salaries higher than the rest of the North?+

On the senior commercial bands, yes. Manchester is typically 10 to 15 per cent above the wider Yorkshire and Lancashire averages for Sales Director and VP Sales seats, mostly driven by the SaaS scale-up cluster and the proximity to London-style packages.

Should I use a Manchester-based agency for a Liverpool or Chester search?+

Often yes. The senior talent pool is regional rather than city-specific, and the strongest Manchester boutiques routinely place into Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire. The exception is sector-specialist seats where local industry knowledge matters more than city.
